What kinds of messages do forklift safety signs cover?

Speed limits, pedestrian right-of-way, no-rider warnings, horn use at intersections, restricted zones, and charging area rules are among the most common. The right mix depends on your specific layout and traffic patterns.

Our facility has both forklifts and pedestrians sharing the same space. Which signs are most important?

Pedestrian crossing signs, forklift zone warnings, and right-of-way reminders tend to matter most in mixed-traffic areas. If workers on foot and forklifts are regularly crossing paths, those are the pressure points where signs do the most work.

What OSHA standards relate to forklift signage?

OSHA 29 CFR 1910.178 covers powered industrial trucks and addresses safe operation, traffic control, and the separation of pedestrian and vehicle traffic. Signage is one of the tools facilities use to meet those requirements on the floor.

Do these need to go at a specific height on the wall?

There is no fixed regulation on mounting height, but eye level for a standing worker is generally the right place. For intersections and dock doors, higher placement sometimes works better so forklift operators can see it from their seated position.

Can these signs handle oil, moisture, or outdoor loading dock conditions?

Yes. The vinyl construction holds up to grease, moisture, and temperature swings without the print fading or the adhesive letting go.

We have a large facility. How many signs do we need?

A good starting point is to walk the floor and mark every spot where a forklift and a person could end up in the same place unexpectedly. Each of those spots is a candidate for a sign. Intersections, blind corners, charging areas, and dock entrances are the usual priorities.

They typically come in various sizes, with common dimensions such as 10"x14", 3.5"x5", 5"x7", and 7"x10", ensuring high visibility and clear readability.
